Ambershift are a four piece progressive indie rock band  from the North-East.

Their style is on the heavier side of indie and they cite influences such as The Smiths, The Jam and The Buzzcocks. They describe themselves as sounding like Interpol vs The Police in a New Order world.

Ambershift were formed in January 2007 and have since performed many gigs including supporting names like Electric Six, Kula Shaker and The Black Velvets.

In 2009 the band recorded their debut album with producer Chris Sheldon (Feeder, Biffy Clyro and Foo Fighters) which is due for release this July.

Ambershift are currently touring the UK and will be supporting The Futureheads at The Cockpit in Leeds on 28th May.

You can find out more about the band and see the other tour dates on their website – ambershift.net, or their myspace.

We are currently playing two tracks including their debut single ‘Another Trigger’ and ‘You Make Me’, which have quickly become favourites of mine.

I’m looking forward to reviewing their live performance on 28th May – they rock!
